Help getting the Digital Room to work

The SMD Contracts "Interactive Room" is a Web site based facility for viewing photo-realistic room scenes based on all our current fabric ranges.

As this is an area of our website that requires graphics to be dynamically managed on your computer we do have certain site requirements for this page which at present your browser does not meet. In most cases you can resolve this problem by updating your browser version or by changing some settings in your browser.

In short, our requirements for this facility are:

• Javascript Support
• Java Support (1.3+)
• Support for Image display (i.e. not a Text only Browser)
• Support for HTML 4.0 or higher, and CSS
• Support for Cookies

If you are able to meet the above requirements on your computer we would encourage you to try out this wonderful new way to view, compare and contrast combinations of our fabrics for yourself.

Most mainstream browsers today are able to support the above, and here are some pointers for enabling support for Java and Javascript:

To enable Javascript

Internet Explorer

• Go to "View | Internet Options..." from the main menu
• Change to the "Security" tab
• Select "Custom" and click on the "Settings..." button
• To enable: make sure "Enable" is selected under "Active scripting"
• To disable: make sure "Disable" is selected under "Active scripting"
• Restart the browser

Mozilla FireFox 1.5

• Go to "Edit"
• Select "Preferences"
• Select the "Content" tab
• Check the box marked "Enable Javascript"
• Also check the "Enable Java" check box if it is not selected

Opera

• File
• Preferences
• Plugins: "Enable JavaScript"

To enable Java

Navigate your browser to the site http://www.java.com/getjava and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you wish to test your installation, we suggest using the site www.javatester.org which can check your installation and confirm the version of Java that you are running.

Note that some older browsers shipped with the "Microsoft JVM" version of Java which Microsoft no longer support. Most Java related problems result from problems with browser Security settings, installation/version problems or memory restrictions.
